Spend a weekend llama trekking in the San Juan Mountains
Book now for 2-3 day overnight treks in the majestic San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado. These treks run July through Labor Day in September. Let your llamas carry the gear while you enjoy the hike, admiring the breath-taking views of the surrounding peaks, as we hike through open meadows of wildflowers!
We go up to the High Camp Cabin near Lizardhead Pass and Telluride, CO! Weekday treks can also be arranged.

High Camp Cabin
San Juan Mountains Llama Treks is offering a two-night, three-day trek to the High Camp Cabin in the backcountry of the San Juans near Telluride, Colorado. This cabin is only accessible by hiking.
Day 1: We will trek across from Lizardhead Wilderness area near the base of Sheep Mountain to a fully furnished (with comforts of home) High Camp Cabin, situated in a high alpine meadow. Day hikes can be arranged from our base camp at the cabin. The cabin is complete with wood burning hot tub, sauna, and pit toilet.
Day 2: Full or ½ day hikes in the surrounding area.
Day 3: Hike back to your vehicle.
Trek includes all meals, plus sleeping bags.

A minimum of 4 guests is required to make this trip a go!
High Camp Cabin is your base camp, with day hikes to Round Lake, a high-alpine fen. When you return, soak and relax in a woodburning hot tub after a day of hiking!




High Alpine Wildflowers of Colorado
If you miss the spring flowers in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC, then plan on catching the high alpine wildflowers in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado, during mid-July to August. You will see fields of Indian paint brush, lupine, larkspur, and columbine just to name a few!
